Development Philosophy

The primary purpose of CO Force is to help each player grow in both skill and knowledge of the game. We aim to provide coaching and experiences which prepare players to play at the collegiate level. We base everything we do on foundational fundamentals and will not cut corners to try and win, rather, we will choose the long view of development to support players.

Offensive Philosophy

Our goal is to teach and use offensive principles that allow athletes to experience both structured and free flowing styles of play. We utilize motion principals and reads as well as structured sets and entries in our system with a variety of offensive actions. We also teach essential components of transition basketball and gear our training and coaching towards a faster paced model of play whenever possible. Players are taught the essentials of spacing, movement, angles and timing in all aspects of the offensive game

Defensive Philosophy

Our goal is to build rock solid foundational man to man defensive habits. We expect players to be able to play with both physical and mental toughness at all times. Our defensive man to man principles are utilized in a variety of full and half court strategies. Communication, positioning, anticipation and understanding the strengths of the player being guarded and adjusting, are all concepts we continually reinforce. We will also use a selected variety of zone press strategies at times and help players learn the correlation between man to man principals and aggressive zone press principals.

Player Development Philosophy

Our goal is to develop the most well rounded players possible. In an era of positionless play, we will train each player to play on the perimeter and in the post. Most players will play 2-3 positions in our system and our most versatile players will play all five positions intermittently, while having a primary 1-2 positional roles. We will work through a variety of training and team experiences to build solid individual offensive skills and defensive skills while also ensuring players understand the finer points of both team defense and offensive execution.

Collegiate Opportunities

We will work to support all players who want to play collegiately. The design of our program top to bottom is to develop players who want to play at the collegiate level. This includes frequent feedback, connecting them with college coaches and supporting their recruitment process through honest and integrity driven advocacy.

Financial Principles and Philosophy

CO Force is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our goal is to keep the cost of participation at the lowest and most reasonable price possible. Our funding sources include, corporate and private donors, grants and player fees. Costs will be released by development season and are largely dependent on the amount of outside/corporate funding support we are able to secure.
